Collaborative Canvas: Human-AI Mural Creation in Cincinnati

Location:

The Volkhaus, 123 E. McMicken Ave

Capacity: 50

When: Monday, June 9, 6:30 - 8:30

While much is being said about AI technical and commercial disruption, important conversations need to be had around mitigating disruption to human purpose - the heart of the Arts & Humanities.

Creatives, technologists, AI enthusiasts and the Cincinnati community at large will join a unique event where this conversation will be put into practice in real-time, with participants contributing to the design and creation of a human-AI digital mural to be revealed during CincyAI Week.

Featuring Cincinnati mural artist/TedX speaker Michael Thompson (murals across the city and in CVG airport) leading the creative process, we will host this event in OTR at Volkshaus (translated from German, ‘the people’s house’) - a historic property turned community gathering space with a cafe. The resulting mural will be painted onto a building in downtown Cincinnati by Michael Thompson within the year in partnership with OTR A.D.O.P.T., a non-profit organization focused on protecting historical properties while bringing first-time residential and commercial buyers into Cincinnati’s urban core.

Note: We will provide the computers and main display for the mural, allowing for all participants to contribute their thinking as they see the mural come to life. Refreshments will be provided through the cafe at Volkshaus.
